HOLLYWOOD STARS PAY TRIBUTE TO STAN WINSTON

Tributes to Hollywood effects legend, Stan Winston, have been pouring in for the last few days, his friends and co-workers included in those.

We've singled out a few of those for you to read here, including Arnold Schwarzenegger, T4 Director McG and T4 effects supervisor and long time frind to Stan, John Rosegrant.

Arnold Schwarzenegger:

"The entertainment industry has lost a genius and I lost one of my best friends with the death Sunday night of Stan Winston. Stan's work and four Oscars speak for themselves and will live on forever. What will live forever in my heart is the way that Stan loved everyone and treated each of his friends like they were family.

More treasured by Stan than any Oscar, though, was the endearing love that he had for his wife, Karen, his children, Matt and Debbie and his grandchildren.

I will miss him greatly and am honored to have worked with him."

Terminator 4 Director, McG:

Stan Winston passed away this past weekend. What an unbelievable talent.

Think of everything that came from the mind of that man. Aliens. Jurassic Park. Iron Man. Terminator.

I wish all of you could go check out the shop that he built. There's a meeting room where all of his creations encircle you. It feels like the first time you went to Disneyland or saw Star Wars. It's an unforgettable moment.

Most of all, Stan was a good guy who was in it for all the right reasons. He loved what he did.

Stan confided in me once, that he created imaginary monsters as a child to keep him company. He said he felt like the only kid in the world who did this. Little did he know his childhood friends would come to be the heroes of millions. You are not alone Stan, the fruit of your imagination will be with us forever.

It is a real honor to have had the opportunity to work with Stan Winston. I intend to dedicate this film to his memory.

From the set of TERMINATOR: SALVATION, John Rosegrant, a man who has worked with Stan since the first Terminator and had to continue working through news of his mentor's passing.

It's 3am here in New Mexico and I'm supervising Terminator 4 Salvation for Stan and just finished one of the toughest days in my life. It was extra tough not only that I lost my mentor, who taught me this business and great lessons in life, but we had to perform tonight. The old show biz saying "the show must go on" came true and the team and I had to make Stan proud.... to bring our characters to life, and keep it all together.

I have been blessed to have worked for Stan for the last 25 years, my first feature with Stan being the first Terminator. It has been an unbelievable opportunity, an incredible ride. It's a ride, we the team will continue, just as he wanted. Stan never lost his love for this business, always wanted to break that new ground, give the audience what they had never seen before, and to the highest artistic standards.

As a person Stan was caring and generous. It breaks my heart that he is gone. The out pouring from the fans is very touching.... you all obviously loved him as much as we all did at Stan Winston Studio. We'll miss you Stan.
