2004 Saturn Awards
Yes, it’s that time of year again where all the awards are given out for the best movies and actors/actresses of the previous year. We’ve already had the Oscars and the BAFTAs, and now it’s time for the Saturn Awards!
The Awards, which were founded in 1972, celebrates the work of science fiction, fantasy & horror films. This year, Horror/Fantasy/Sci-Fi giants Ridley Scott, producer Gale Anne Hurd and composer John Williams will all deservedly receive special achievement awards.
The 30th Annual Saturn Awards will be held on May 5th and includes our favourite movie of 2003, Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, in 4 fantastic nominations: - Best Science Fiction Film (something LOTR can’t win!!), Best Make Up (again, without LOTR!) and Best Special Effects. The final nomination is for Kristanna, in the Best Supporting Actress category.
We can all now celebrate that T3 is finally in a ‘best film’ category that LOTR is not. Previous winners of the Best Science Fiction Film Award include Tom Hanks’ Minority Report and Steven Spielberg’s A.I. – Artificial Intelligence.
