Arnold Injured in Motorcycle Smash!

Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has been released from hospital in Santa Monica, California, after he was involved in a motorcycle crash near his home in Brentwood yesterday afternoon.

Schwarzenegger was out riding on his Harley Davidson bike, with 12-year-old son Patrick in the sidecar when he collided with a car reversing from a driveway. Both were wearing helmets at the time.

"The governor was unable to avoid the vehicle in his path and collided with it at a low speed," said Schwarzenegger's spokeswoman, Margita Thompson.

The Terminator star was taken to St John's Hospital in Santa Monica where he was treated for a cut lip, receiving 15 stitches. Patrick was also treated for cuts and bruises.

Schwarzenegger was recovering from the accident at home last night. He is expected to speak about healthcare issues at a meeting in North Hollywood later today.
