NBA's, BAFTAs and DVD's!

Sunday February 15^th – Arnold Schwarzenegger opened the NBA All-Star game at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles. Before the start of the game, Arnold stood alone in the midcourt, in a spotlight, and warmly welcomed everyone to California, thanking them for going, and using that bit of Arnie magic that he has.

He then met the Chinese West All Star player, Yao Ming, looking up as he shook his hand. Not many people stand over the Terminator!

Arnold later watched the game from a skybox.

The Governor has been pumping California recently, working his hardest on restoring glory to the Golden State. He wants to get Propositions 57 and 58 put into action, so that the Californian Government’s budget can be balanced and have no more deficits.

In movie news…

The BAFTAs were held this week in the famous Leicester Square in London. Remember we told
you that T3 was up for the Best Film of the Year award? Well…it didn’t win unfortunately. Lord Of The Rings: Return of the King got it, and just about every other award it was nominated for, surprise, surprise.

And finally, DVD news...

We have something rather exciting to report on today, though not official. As our Vice President, Paul (aka T-850), was surfing through some websites, he came across a SPECIAL EDITION DVD for Conan The Destroyer set for release on August 30^th, later on this year in UK (R2).

There were no extras listed, and it had the same cover art as the existing Region 2 DVD. We searched through as many DVD websites as we could find, looking for a possible hint of any news on it, but drew a blank. Could it be a mistake by the website? Or are UK finally getting that kick ass special edition that R4 was given?

We don’t know – but we’re sure as hell gonna find out. For now, you can just look at the web page containing the details and pray to CROM that it’s authentic, HERE. We’ll keep you informed!
