Destroyer C.E. DVD - Features Confirmed!

After months of top secret work and speculation, GlobalArnold.com can now confirm all of the features that will be on the new UK Collectors Edition DVD of Conan The Destroyer!

The DVD will be released all over UK on September 27th 2004, priced at £15.99. This year being the twentieth anniversary of its original theatrical premiere, Sanctuary Visual Entertainment are bringing you this Collector's Edition DVD offering the following features:

Whilst this is the collector's edition we've all been waiting for, it's more like Sarah Douglas's story. She supplied the audio commentary and spoke about how it was working with such big names as Arnold . Like the T2: Extreme Edition is a partner DVD to the T2: Ultimate Edition , this C.E. is like a partner DVD to the Region 4 S.E.

Unfortunately, it is cut. 19 seconds worth of footage has been taken – scenes from the beginning battle between Conan & Queen Taramis, where a horse falls, and then later on in the movie, where Conan hits a camel on the head.

When submitted to the BBFC the work had a running time of 96m 38s .

To obtain this category, cuts of 0m 19s were required. Some or all of these cuts were substitutions. The cuts were Compulsory. Compulsory cuts required to sight of animal cruelty (horse falls and camel hit on head) in accordance with current BBFC policy.

This is a Region 0 DVD – this means that it can be played in all regions, however, your DVD player must be able to play both NTSC and PAL. If it cannot play PAL, it will seem stretched on the DVD player.

“The UK collector's edition of Conan The Destroyer is just a warm up to the real special edition. Universal owns the rights to the cut footage. They might not be able to put the scenes back into the movie, but it would still be cool if they showed the scenes separately on the DVD. The love scene with Arnold and Sarah was cut early on in the editing. I'm not sure how the quality is on some of the scenes. I did get the UK to do a commentary track with Sarah, which is great news; however the job of getting the uncut version is not done yet. Help us by signing the PETITION.”
